Raquel Lima is a spoken word performance artist based in Portugal. She published her poetry in several languages (fanzines, literary anthologies, experimental literature magazines, etc.) and have been organizing poetry workshops since 2011 with schools, cultural and social associations, festivals and other institutions, highlighting the 'Poetry and Gender Workshop: for an intersectional poetic writing' offered in Tartu (2013), São Paulo (2017), Coimbra, Curia and Vigo (2018). She participated in several national and international events dedicated to literature, spoken word, oral tradition, storytelling and poetry slam in Portugal, Italy, France, Poland, UK, Belgium, Estonia, Brazil, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, São Tomé e Príncipe, among other countries.
She founded the cultural association Pantalassa (2011) for the promotion of arts from the "lusophone" space, and was the General Coordinator and Artistic Director of PortugalSLAM - International Festival for Poetry and Performance (2012-2017). Raquel is also a PhD Student in Post-Colonialisms and Global Citizenship from the Centre for Social Studies at Coimbra University, and her research focus on orature, gender and afrodiasporic movements.
